Restorative Yoga ~ 4 Week Series with Rose

Melt tension, soften and release, feel fully supported and nurture yourself in this four week restorative series. Each week we will delve into poses that help you yield or surrender. In Restorative Yoga we actively (i.e. consciously) surrender our tension to the force of gravity. We keep relaxing and softening throughout the practice. Letting go of tension brings great relief to our body and mind. Restorative Yoga is not about collapsing into each posture, as we might slump into an old armchair. Instead, yielding allows us to be in a clear and dynamic relationship with our environment, so that we are very present to this softening of stress and tension, present to what may be revealed from letting go. Indeed, Yoga may be seen as a practice of revelation – by practicing Yoga we reveal what is obscured by our stress – a lighter, softer, more energized, clearer, heart-centered Self.

Restorative Yoga & Nidra with Misty

Show yourself some love this Valentine's Day. We will destress with some poses that balance the nervous system, quiet your mind and boost your immune system. Restorative yoga is a form of yoga that seeks to achieve physical, mental and emotional relaxation with the aid of props. We will begin w/a gentle warm up flow that allows you to burn off any extra energy. Followed by a seated or lying meditation that turns the senses inward and facilitates relaxation for the restorative poses. We will then do 5-8 restorative poses and then bask in a sweet yoga nidra.
Yoga Nidra means Yogic Sleep and refers to the conscious awareness of the Deep Sleep state. In Yoga Nidra you leave the waking state, go past the dreaming state and then go to deep sleep, yet remain awake. The state of yoga nidra is deeply relaxing and rejuvenating. Time spent in yoga nidra opens us to deeper clarity. It is one of the deepest of all meditations, leading us to a supreme stillness and insight. We invite you to a deeply restful and revitalizing practice. Through deep surrender, the heart opens and a river flows from the heart. Live in Bliss.
